Olofsbo's identity is inseparable from its campsite. Olofsbo Camping sits directly behind the beach and is one of the larger coastal campsites in Halland, which means the beach itself functions less as a day-trip destination and more as the front garden of a whole holiday community — cabins, pitches, a pool complex and a beach all within a short walk of each other. Families come for a week at a time rather than an afternoon, and the beach's character reflects that: unhurried, kid-orientated, and busiest exactly when school holidays are running.

Geographically it sits north of Falkenberg, on the quieter stretch of coast toward Långasand and Ugglarp beach, well away from any town centre — the campsite is effectively the whole settlement here.

That trade-off is worth stating plainly: what you gain in convenience and facilities, you give up in quiet. A beach this closely tied to a large campsite is never going to feel empty in the way Långasand or the wilder stretches of Haverdal do, and anyone hoping for solitude should look further along the coast. For a family managing small children through a full week, though, that constant low hum of other people doing the same thing is usually a comfort rather than a drawback.

The sand and the swimming

The shelving is shallow and gentle, arguably the single biggest reason the campsite built up around this spot in the first place — the water stays waist-deep for a long way out, which is exactly what a week-long family holiday with young children needs. It's still a fully west-facing beach, so the same onshore wind pattern applies as everywhere else on this coast: calm mornings, choppier afternoons when the sea breeze builds, with dunes and marram grass behind the beach offering some shelter if you move back from the waterline.

Jellyfish become more common in the shallows here from late summer onward, as along the rest of the coast — generally the harmless moon jelly, though worth a look before letting toddlers wade in unsupervised. Check current bathing-water quality via the national Badplatsen service, particularly useful here given how many families plan a whole week around this one beach.

Facilities

This is the best-provisioned beach in this group precisely because of the campsite behind it: a shop, restaurant and café options, playgrounds, and often a pool complex as an alternative to the sea on a windy day, all open through the main camping season and scaled back off-season. There's no dedicated lifeguard cover on the open beach — that's limited to the handful of busiest town beaches elsewhere in the county — but the shallow, sheltered nature of the water and the constant presence of other families make it a comparatively easy beach to relax on with children.

Getting there and parking

Olofsbo is reached by car along the coast road north of Falkenberg; there's no fast direct rail or bus link, so driving is the practical option for most visitors, with the campsite itself acting as the main car park. The walk from parking to sand is short and flat — no dune trek here, unlike Haverdal further south — which suits the campsite's family-holiday pace. Expect the site and its car park to be at their fullest during the main summer school holiday weeks.
